to my love.

happy valentine's day to the boy i love.
there is no one i would rather be silly / serious / sad / or happy with.
there is also no one i would rather eat a burger with.
no one i would rather explore a new city with.

there is no one i would rather argue about sports with.
no one's bedroom and bathroom area i would rather clutter up with clothes and makeup.
definitely no one i would rather have help me with my late night sewing projects or taste my baking experiments.

you are the greatest and i am so happy that i get to see you each day.
xoxo

crazy crazy ride.

i went from visiting here:

to living here:

EF - Live The Language - Los Angeles from Albin Holmqvist on Vimeo.

within the past six months.

life is definitely a crazy ride.

i'm a liar.

so...remember here, where i convinced you i was taking a road trip to san diego and moving the rest of my things to los angeles?
well.

i didn't go.

jj managed to convince me friday night that it was supposed to rain all weekend and that moving would be a terrible task and would possibly ruin my life.
of course, that sounds reasonable to me.
so in los angeles we remained.

instead, we went to jj's parents' house, where i made spinach artichoke dip and sat around all day.

so to recap: i ditched out on moving my things for a weekend filled with laziness and cheesy dip.
oh wait, and i painted my nails.

please, just love me through this.

the fondue tradition.

growing up in our family, one day each week, my parents ate fondue.
it was the "big kid's" meal, the one we aspired to eat.
i don't remember my parents really going out on date nights often (if ever), and i think this may have been their version of a date night:
a little wine, some fondue, and a movie.

this is a tradition jj and i have adopted.
we used to have fondue nights with our roommates at missouri mansion with the same basic components: wine, fondue, television.
one time, we even mixed cheese fondue into the equation.
but i always go back to "old reliable"- chicken and beef in peanut oil, with various dipping sauces.

i like having this reminder of growing up.
it makes living in a strange new city feel a little bit more like home.
the smells are the same, the components are the same, and it helps me feel like i've come home a little bit each time.

sometimes it's exactly what's needed after a long week of navigating a new city.
and by navigating i mean attempting to find my way to and from work each day.
let's not even get started on what happens when i stray from that course.

sh*t no one says.

happy friday!
and so begins my last (fingers crossed) trip moving my stuff to los angeles.

like everyone in the world, we are obsessed with these videos lately and quote them endlessly.
there is much ridiculous laughter going on over here.
"hey, does anyone know how i can make papyrus my default font?" might be my favorite line.

in keeping with the theme, i hope you have an absolutely terrible weekend!
haaaa!

this is it!

this weekend i am taking the plunge.
i am getting off my lazy butt and finally moving the rest of my things up to los angeles.
i know. it's ridiculous that it's taken this long.

moving is actually the worst.
you know how freshman year of college you take literally everything you might ever need ever to college? and then when you have to move sophomore year you hate your life because you have way too much useless stuff that you never needed? and then junior year and senior year you slowly donate all of your stuff to goodwill so that you never have to move it again?

le sigh.

one thing i am really excited about is opening our resolution letters from 2011.
i know, i know.
it's already january 20th and i still haven't opened them. it's that whole lazy butt/not moving/not driving to san diego to pick up my stuff thing again.

i can't wait to see what crazy dreams i had for 2011 and how many of them came true.
it's my favorite part of each new year.
